It all started when…
I was sitting at a table next to the park, having coffee with a friend. I’d just been laid off from my job of several years at a major – though controversial – company. The entire summer was ahead of me.
“I’m gonna watch The Sopranos! From beginning to end – in that order,” I decided.
“I’ve always wanted to do that,” my friend said.
“I’m going to learn about SEO!”
“You mean Sia? The Chandelier girl?” my friend asked.
“S-E-O. Search Engine Marketing. It’s like writing, but with a hidden agenda,” I clarified. I was getting excited.
“This is gonna be my time. Time to work with different clients, and expand my portfolio, and really let the creative juices flow! I proclaim this: The Summer of Lisa!” I said with a fist pump.
(And then COVID hit.)

And, as someone who was employed as a professional researcher, I’m pretty good at getting up to speed on other topics, too.
I thrive on variety and new challenges, no matter the medium. I work best with designers and stakeholders who are collaborative, communicative, and respectful. I get excited about learning new things (like how to talk about tasting notes in coffee), brainstorming wild ideas (a podcast ad about a fake bet between me and my boss), and playing around with words (future bakery name: Pie Hard).
